Build description
Uses magic to conjure blizzards from the Aether and freeze your foes to defeat them.
General Information :
This is a pure frost mage build that I had a lot of help with for the past several months and I finally got it mostly finished. This isn't the most impressive build out there by far, but it does do its job pretty damn well!
Typically, a dps character is like a glass cannon. Incredibly volatile and dangerous, but unfortunately squishy and only made for one type of content : pvp or pve. That isn't the case with this build. I absolutely despise being squishy and so I've made a frost mage build that is really tough to kill, but can also push out a good bit of damage.
More than that though, is that it doesn't do its dps in the form of burst damage. Instead, it does it by aoe DoT damage (area of effect, damage over time). The entire build revolves around good set synergy and locking down players/npcs by immobilizing them with our frost magic.
Gear :
Setup #1 (heavy armor setup):
2 pieces Ice-Heart. Divines or infused with magic enchants is fine.
5 pieces winterborn. Staple frost mage set. Put these pieces on your weapon and jewlery slots. Precise or infused with absorb magic enchants is fine, but you should get the increase weapon/spell damage enchant as soon as you can. No rush tho. For jewlery, Arcane with spell damage or magic regen is fine.
5 pieces Ice Furnace. Put these on the armor slots. Divines or Infused is fine. If you want to do pvp, give 4 pieces Impen.
Feel free to replace Ice Furnace if you feel another set would compliment your style better. Ice Furnace was just a personal style choice, cause I hate being squishy.
Setup #2 (light armor setup) :
2 piece Ice-Heart. Same as above.
5 piece Winterborn. Staple frost mage set. Put these on the armor slots, otherwise divines or infused with max mag enchants is fine. For pvp, Impen on 4 or 5 pieces and your good to go.
5 pieces Rattlecage. I chose this as an alt set cause this boosts pretty much everything we need. Put these pieces on your weapon and jewlery slots. Precise or infused with absorb magic enchants is fine, but you should get the increase weapon/spell damage enchant as soon as you can. No rush tho. For jewlery, Arcane with spell damage or magic regen is fine.
For this setup, if you use it, allocate 25 points into the light armor focus passive in the Lady tree. Take these points out of the heavy armor focus in the Lord tree. Each armor setup is almost the same gameplay-wise, just one is tankier the other does better damage and is a lot less tanky. Choose whichever you prefer.
Lemme know any questions you have, enjoy the build, et cetera et cetera. >.>
